Book Review: The A. I. Who Loved Me by Alyssa Cole

This was originally posted in May 2020, however, thanks to a few glitches I have decided to update and post it again. Thank you for your understanding. Cheers!

N.B. I pay for the Audible Service and I’m just sharing my thoughts on the book.

Billed as a rom-com with a sci-fi twist, and narrated by the amazing Regina Hall along with Mindy Kaling, Feodor Chin, Terese Plummer, Dina Pearlman, Neil Hellegers, Adrenrele Ojo, and Kyla Garcia is a real feel-good listen.

Trinity Jordan is stuck working at home for her government job while recovering from an incident. Her quiet life, however, gets turned on its ear when her neighbour’s odd nephew Li Wei comes to stay while recovering from an illness of his own. An emergency pulls his aunt away, leaving him more or less in Trinity’s care and she learns that her reality is far from reality.

Li Wei is an Artificial Intelligence being who is supposed to be learning how to be human, but things start to go a bit far left when he and Trinity find themselves falling in love. Except for Trinity, who is still struggling with not only her recovery but also amnesia, doesn’t know he’s A. I. even though her instincts tell something about him is different.

This book was humorous, well written, and had plenty of twists and turns that come complete with a happily ever after, and a hint at series. Fingers crossed. The characters and little details and narrators made this a fun listen and brought the story to life for me as a listener.

Although in my personal opinion, the cat stole the show. NB You will have to read to understand.

If you do check it out, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Until next time, Happy Reading!
