For a couple of months, a few of my work mates have been recommending the TV series Carnival Row to me, but admittedly I have been putting it off.
So when the Audible Original based on the series popped up in my recommended list I decide to give it a listen, and then decide whether to watch the show after.
The main character, Tourmaline led a simple, idyllic life as a student and aspiring poet. That is until Vignette enters her life and turns her whole world and perspective upside down. Add the tension of a looming war, and you have a story of love, heartbreak and survival.
It was a quick three hour listen that kept me on my toes at work today. By the end I had serious beef with Vignette and complete empathy for Tourmaline, a complete switcheroo from how I felt at the beginning.
Suffice it to say I will be watching the series on my next off day. For anyone looking for a quick listen that packs a nice little punch, this is definitely it.
Until next time.
Happy Reading!
